Once we learn how to walk, our feet bear more weight than any other part of the body and they experience a lot of wear and tear. Regular observation and massage of our feet ensures prolonged healthy feet.
The human foot is a strong and complex mechanical structure containing 26 bones and 33 joints, more than a hundred muscles, tendons and ligaments, and more than 7000 nerve endings.
If foot ailments are left untreated, they can become chronic and may take longer to respond to remedies and/or treatment. If they become sore or limit our ability, seeking help is recommended.
Foot ailments can be prevented. Taking care of our feet with regular massage has long term benefits. Massaging feet ourselves, having a partner or family member offer regular TLC or hiring a practitioner has long term benefits. Regular foot massage improves blood circulation and mobility while stimulating muscle tissue and prevents the build up of lactic acid. Therefore, it benefits our overall health.
