Reflexology has been used for centuries by different cultures around the world with its origins tracing back to ancient China, Egypt, and India, where it was used as a natural healing practice to address a variety of health concerns. For more information, please visit the 'History of Reflexology' page on this website.
Reflexology provides numerous benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, promoting relaxation, improving circulation, reducing pain, and enhancing overall well-being. With regular reflexology sessions, you can experience these benefits and more.
As we age into our 50s plus, the decrease of hormone production changes the body's adaptabilities. Whether this is experienced gradually or dramatically, it has an impact on every system in the body. Understanding this is power and knowing our tools that work best for us is even more powerful. Because reflexology has the benefits mentioned above, it can help improve balance, reduce arthritis pain, and enhance cognitive function. It can also help address specific health issues that are common among seniors, such as insomnia and poor circulation. With common feedbackfrom clients of feeling more relaxed and improvements in their health, these are often accompanied by more energy.
During a reflexology session, you can expect to feel relaxed and comfortable. Only socks and shoes are removed. Reflexologists use a variety of techniques to apply pressure to all sides of the feet, ankles and achilles tendon. Most issues will need one more than one treatment, although occasionally clients have achieved what they needed following just one session. By the end of your session, it will most likely feel like you've just spent the day at the spa. Reflexologists refrain from diagnosing ailments, conditons or disease nor do we prescribe.
